What is the best type of exercise for weight loss?

Running.

I am no professional expert on exercise, but I’m speaking from experience. When I started my weight loss journey, I tried a lot of different things like power yoga, aerobics, jumba and whatnot. It was basically one new YouTube video a day. I even tried stepping in the gym for a day. None of that really worked for me. So, finally, I got on the treadmill, put on some music, and started running. That was far more easier than taking instructions. I ended up shedding 12 kgs in 4 months, obviously it was coupled with some rigorous diet control.

But a few things need to be kept in mind when you start running.

  • Proper athletic wear and a pair of comfortable shoes. You have to be comfortable in what you are wearing for a proper run.
  • Running posture.
  • Being regular. Even if you start with 20 minutes a day, you have to do it everyday if you want to see results.

Start small, like with 15–20 minutes a day and then gradually bring it up to at least 60 minutes. You might feel like you are going to die when you start, but it gets better with time and consistency.
